General Information - Dr Halina Wykrota
Dr Halina Wykrota is a specialist in the field of ophthalmology. She passed the second degree of specialization state exam in 1994. She gained her practical skills and rich experience by participating in numerous specialist courses and working at, among others, Ophthalmology Hospital in Katowice on Ceglana Street (1989-2009).
Since the nineties, the main subject of her interests was AMD disease and treatment of this dysfunction using photodynamic therapy. This was also the topic of her doctoral dissertation (titled: "Evaluation of the effectiveness of photodynamic therapy in wet age-related macular degeneration"). She obtained her PhD in 2005.
She is the author and co-author of many papers presented at symposia in Poland and abroad, and publications in professional journals such as: Klinika Oczna, Okulistyka, Magazyn Okulistyczny, The Polish Journal of Environmental Studies, Acta Ophthalmologica Scandinavica, and Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology.
She is continuously furthering her knowledge and shares her valuable experiences with other specialists by participating in scientific congresses and conferences organized by the Polish Ophthalmological Society, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, and the European Society of Ophthalmology, among others.

Dr Halina Wykrota diagnoses and treats of eye diseases. She performs ultrasound, angiography, optical coherence tomography, and corneal topography. The numerous diagnostic procedures she performs include field of vision testing, pachymetry, tonometry, and exophthalmometry.
Dr H. Wykrota specializes in the treatment of diseases of the retina and the posterior segment of the eye. She treats age-related macular degeneration using intraocular injections with Lucentis and EYELEA into the vitreous of the eye. She also helps patients with genetic disorders, such as strabismus, glaucoma, and cataracts.
