High tech equipment
The Ortopedicum hospital boasts a large selection of state of the art equipment. Access to high tech equipment allows us to achieve excellent treatment results. Procedures such as amongst other Joint replacement at Ortopedicum are performed with the use of an Aesculap – OrthoPilot® computer navigation system. The system does not require the patient to undergo additional tests prior to surgery, and does not expose the patient to radiation while taking X-rays and computed tomography images. During treatment the system allows for an optimal selection of the size of the endoprosthesis and its exact placement with respect to the mechanical axis of the limb. Surgical treatment with the system is more precise and the endoprosthesis – more durable and more functional.
During the selection of an endoprosthesis, we use the services of Aesculap AG. A wide selection of products allows our specialists to perform virtually every kind of surgical hip and knee replacement procedure. The manufacturers offer includes amongst other standard and revision endoprosthesis (with and without cement), as well as short stem hip endoprosthesis, used for procedures with reduced bone loss. We use them for procedures performed on younger patients.
Ortopedicum also has specialized equipment which allows us to perform the latest physiotherapy treatments including cryotherapy with the use of liquid nitrogen, shock wave and high energy laser therapy. We also have pneumatic compression massage and hydrotherapy equipment (whirlpool and pearl baths). We have the Keiser Functional Trainer – a multifunctional station for comprehensive functional training of the torso and limbs, as well as a balancing platform, a device for isotonic training used for the rehabilitation of the upper and lower limbs. The equipment is only a fraction of our broad selection of equipment. We gradually continue to acquire additional state of the art equipment, which allows us to offer patients access to the latest innovative treatment techniques.
Amenities for patients
We guarantee our patients a high standard of medical care. Our clinics treatment program is individually tailored to meet patient’s needs, allowing us to achieve satisfactory results. In order to guarantee patients a sense of comfort and safety throughout every step of the treatment process (diagnostics, surgery and rehabilitation) all takes places in one place – the Ortopedicum hospital. During each treatment step the patient remains under the care of a single doctor, who will maintain close supervision. Additionally we guarantee patients an individually tailored rehabilitation program established by a single therapist. Additional staff therapists perform treatments only if necessary. By implementing this form of care we are able to achieve a better level of communication between the specialist and patients guaranteeing a higher level of privacy and comfort.
At Ortopedicum our rehabilitation programs are not only individually tailored but are also comprehensive. We combine different forms of therapy to treat dysfunctions by focusing on different areas (joints, muscles and skin). We offer therapy under one roof with great results in a short period. During treatment our doctor works closely with the physiotherapist. An interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s problem reduces treatment time and increases its effectiveness while at the same time reducing the risk of complications.
We offer own developed rehabilitation programs including amongst other gymnastic correction for children, group activities “Healthy spine” (prevention and treatment of backaches) as well as “healthy living – I am healthy”.
